An Experience Blessed to Receive
I have created this blog to share my experiences while on a journey through an amazing opportunity with Students with Diabetes (SWD). SWD is an amazing organization that helps young adults with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) come together, support each other, build a community, all while advocating for continuous funding for a cure for T1D. This year, SWD created this awesome life changing opportunity for young adults with T1D to be granted internships with companies that work within the various professional fields of diabetes. It was a process that started back in February with the applications. This blog will document all the amazing moments I have been able to have through SWD and my life with T1D.
A little about me. I am currently a senior at Appalachian State University studying Marketing and Supply Chain Management. My family is my biggest support system and I don't know where I would be without them. I have been living with T1D for nine years but try to never let it stop me from anything I want to accomplish. I am a fun loving, goofy, spontaneous, adventurous girl that has a major passion for advocating for T1D.
